President Luis Abinader is expected to address the nation on 27 February 2026. This would be his fifth time taking the podium to highlight the achievements and challenges of his administration. He first took office on 16 August 2020. As of the morning of 26 February, the Presidency had not confirmed the address and whether it will be from the forum of the National Congress. In the past, President Abinader has given the speech from outside the legislative house.

The address is televised on Channel 4 and a network of stations.

Friday, 27 February is a national holiday, marking Independence Day.
