The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) has announced that citizens can begin scheduling appointments online starting Monday, 9 March 2026, to streamline the driver’s license issuance and renewal process.

By implementing mandatory pre-scheduling, Intrant aims to eliminate the “first-come, first-served” bottlenecks that have frustrated drivers in recent weeks in an attempt to return to the expedited service of the past contractor.

While the previous system typically allowed motorists to complete renewals in approximately one hour, the change in the contractor for the license renewals has resulted in long delays.

Intrant says the new digital platform, accessible via www.intrant.gob.do , is designed to restore efficiency by allowing users to pre-program their visits and select specific time slots.
