The show business gala, the Soberano Awards, held annually at the National Theater is also an opportunity to showcase Dominican fashion.

The Red Carpet held from 7 to 9pm before the start of the actual Soberano Awards in the Carlos Piantini Hall of the National Theater is the time when outfits by Dominican designers is presented to the general public. The fashion attire designed for the outstanding figures of the hosts, the nominees and special guests receives equal coverage by the media.

For 2026, the media mentioned the “Veneno” dress by designer Luis Dominguez for Gabi Desangles that incorporated a jeweled scorpion, and the larimar-colored dress by Suzelle Taveras for Amara La Negra. Taveras also designed the red outfit for communicator Oriana Falla.
