Following a 25-year tenure in the Dominican public sector, Julissa Cruz Abreu has been named the Director of Sustainable Digital Infrastructure for CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. She had joined the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) in 2001.

In her new regional capacity, Cruz Abreu will spearhead strategic initiatives to bolster connectivity, technological resilience, and sustainable growth across the continent. Her mandate includes overseeing the development of data centers, enhancing regional computing capabilities, and integrating energy efficiency and renewable sources into digital frameworks.

“I firmly believe in the power of regional and multilateral cooperation to accelerate digital transformation with social and environmental impact,” Cruz Abreu stated regarding her appointment.
