The Ministry of Housing, Habitats, and Buildings (Mived) has ordered an immediate work stoppage at the Tuscany Palace Residence project in Bayahibe, La Altagracia province. The intervention follows a structural collapse during construction that exposed severe safety violations and a lack of legal authorization.

A specialized team from Mived’s Private Works Inspection Department conducted an on-site verification after the incident and revealed major technical failures. The Ministry reports that the collapse was triggered by an incorrectly configured shoring system. This failure led to an inadequate load transfer, which compromised the global stability of the formwork system currently under execution.
