Education Minister Luis Miguel De Camps presented the recently approved National Digital Competency Strategy as a cornerstone for transforming the nation’s pre-university system during a high-level panel at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France this week.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the Global Education Coalition on 24 March 2026, De Camps framed the initiative as a vital component of the national educational roadmap designed to align schooling with the demands of digital transformation.

The strategy integrates advanced pedagogical focuses, including computational thinking and Artificial Intelligence (AI). De Camps emphasized that these tools are intended to promote a “rational and intelligent” use of technology, ensuring that digital advancement serves to accelerate learning rather than replace the fundamental role of the educator.
