Expect Santo Domingo to host a world swimming championships in months to come. World Aquatics has certified the Santo Domingo Aquatics Center, located within the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, and renovated for the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 that will take place in July and August 2026.

The facility now features four pools designed and built by the global aquatic firm Fluidra, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED).

The complex has received international certification from World Aquatics, confirming that its new installations meet the rigorous technical standards required for high-level global competitions and world record validation. The pools now feature climatization.
