A reported electrical failure caused what is described as the fourth stop of Santo Domingo Metro operations this year. The Santo Domingo Metro is used by approximately 400,000 commuters every day. Those caught in the outage had to leave the Metro and proceed by other means. The outage lasted about an hour.
The operator of the system has yet to give explanations to the most recent and past outages.
