Violent thunder and lightning roared across much of the North Coast and parts of the Cibao Valley late last week, and the Center for Emergency Operations (COE) issued all types of warnings for these provinces. Puerto Plata and Espaillat got most of the rains. Towns such as Guananico, Imbert, Altamira and others, reported falling trees and local flooding. There was important urban flooding in Santiago de los Caballeros.

Personnel from the Transportation Safety Agency (Digesett) reported failing roadways caused by rain runoff and flooding. In Gaspar Hernandez (Espaillat province), heavy, violent rains caused local flooding and small landslides In the northwestern corner of the Cibao region, parts of Valverde province, such as Jaibon and Laguna Salada, suffered heavy crop losses (plantains and bananas), as well as housing damage, due to the high winds.
