Key Jet Set Club roof collapse witness Gregory Adames, a long-time employee and righthand to the owners of the club (eight years on the job until the collapse) gave his testimony as a victim in court on 27 April 2026.

The case is looking into the collapse of the roof that caused the death of 236 persons and 180 persons injured on 8 April 2025. A technical report points to negligence on behalf of the owners-managers, Antonio Espaillat and his sister Maribel Espaillat.

Judge Raymundo Mejía of the First Instruction Court of the National District is conducting the preliminary phase. In a previous preliminary phase hearing, the judge had said Adames would have to wait for the case to formally open deliberations for him to testify as a key witness.
