Dominican fans filled the Quisqueya Ball Park to be present for the Ed Sheeran concert on Saturday, 9 May 2026. Local media reported on how from his first appearance on stage he connected with his Dominican fans. “¿KLK, Santo Domingo?,” were his opening words. Then he opened with the song: “You need me, I don’t need you.”

The popularity of the British pop star was outstanding, especially since he sang in English. Reviewers made the point of his numerous fans thoroughly enjoying his performance that was 100% talent and how lyrics that did not feature what urban artists say are musts for their popularity — nudity, bad words, sex incitation and drugs.

Sheeran mesmerized his fans, performing for more than two hours. Attending the concert was Laura Pausini, who was scheduled for a concert at the El Ovalo stage of the Feria Ganadera the next evening.
