The National Institute for the Custody and Administration of Seized and Forfeited Assets (Incabide) held its first public auction of 2026 on 13 May 2026 at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and allotted assets for RD$562.8 million, as reported in Diario Libre. The landmark event saw hundreds of participants bidding millions for properties and luxury items previously linked to money laundering and organized crime.

The proceedings were overseen by representatives from the Tax Agency (DGII) and the Comptroller General of the Republic, with legal oversight provided by a body of notaries and official auctioneers to ensure transparency and public trust.
