On 13 May 2026, President Luis Abinader met with the leadership of the National Council of Business (Conep) of Panama and high-ranking executives to showcase the Dominican Republic’s competitive advantages. The high-level dialogue, held on the sidelines of the World Free Zones Organization (WFZO) 10th Annual Congress held in Panama City, focused on leveraging the Dominican Republic’s position as a regional logistics hub and its “nearshoring” success to attract Panamanian capital.
