The US Embassy in Santo Domingo announced that representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) will hold three days of in-person service sessions at the U.S. Consular Agency in Puerto Plata, located at Plaza El Doral (Carretera Luperón KM 3.5).

US citizens, retirees, and health plan beneficiaries will have a direct opportunity to settle Social Security and federal benefits matters locally next month without taking the trip to Santo Domingo.

Service schedule The FBU team will serve the public during the following hours:

Wednesday, 2 September 2026: 1pm to 5pm

Thursday, 3 September 2026: 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm

Friday, 4 September 2026: 8am to 12pm

Services will be managed on-site using a regulated ticket system distributed on a first-come, first-served basis each day. Applicants should plan to arrive early to secure a ticket.
