Civic activists and political committees in the Dominican Republic are stepping up outreach to ensure more US citizens living in the country participate in the upcoming US midterm elections. The US Embassy estimates that roughly 300,000 Americans and dual nationals reside across the Dominican Republic.

The next major US federal election is scheduled for Tuesday, 3 November 2026, serving as a key midterm before the 7 November 2028 presidential election.

In tight electoral contests, overseas ballots frequently determine the outcomes of narrow congressional, senatorial, and state-level races. David Ware, acting representative for Democrats Abroad Dominican Republic, the DR-based Democratic committee, urges citizens to exercise their right to vote.
