Dominican exports hit really good numbers for January to July 2026. Nearly US$9.3 billion in the first seven months, a 12.5% increase over the same time frame last year, Pro Dominicana, the government export agency reports.

One of the interesting aspects of the news is the fact that medical device exports made up over a billion dollars of the historic figure. Of course, gold was the biggest contributor to the good news, but even removing the numbers of gold exports, the report still shows over a 5% increase year-to-year.

More traditional exports such as tobacco were also way up, with a US$100 million increase over the 2025 first half. The industrial free zones exported well over US$5.0 billion.
