Arajet, the Dominican Republic-based airline, has just announced that it intends to expand its fleet of single-aisle 737 Boeing jets to 24 by the end of 2027 in response to passenger demand.
With the soon-to-open expansion of the Cibao International Airport (STI) in Santiago, Arajet is looking to open flights to Boston and New York in the coming year.
Arajet also operates flights from Santo Domingo’s Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ).
Among the destinations to be added are Guayaquil in Ecuador and Montevideo, in Uruguay, set to be serviced in 2027.
The airline also has underway negotiations in Venezuela to provide service there as the airline continues its push to serve more of South America. Regarding Venezuela, the airline is trying to get permission to provide direct flights from Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
