As part of his ongoing familiarization with the city’s transit infrastructure, the recently appointed executive director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant), Juan Manuel Méndez, conducted a technical tour of Kilometer 9 of the Duarte Highway. As part of his learning the ropes, the former major general also held meetings with the top executives of leading transport companies.

Méndez toured the Metro and Km 9 area with Jhael Isa Tavárez, executive vice president of the Metropolitan Transport Company (EMT) and executive director of the Mass Transport Trust (Fitram), to coordinate the reorganization of public transport feeder routes. The EMT is in charge of the Metro mass transit systems in the Dominican Republic.
