Despite the bickering between the legislative and executive branch, at the end of the day, they are in bed together.

When both branches are ruled by the same party, there is no check and balance.
When each branch is of the opposite party, then we have gridlock.

Politics nowadays is like tossing a coin. The tax payers always lose whether it is head or tail.

As I stated earlier, politicians are leading the path of entitlements. The tax payers lost that battle already. :(

Look at any footage of former Presidents getting together for this or that cause. When they're not on the dais they're laughing their azzes of, cracking jokes and just having a grand time together. Hell the two candidates from the last Presidential campaign were yucking it up together even before the innauguration....and we we (the public) were, hanging on to the same tired arguments that they'd put behind them long ago.

I think I understand what they're laughing at. It's us.

Some thoughts from Ann Coulter on the day after Easter.

Liberals seem to have hit upon a reverse Christ story as their belief system. He suffered and died for our sins; liberals make the rest of us suffer for sins we didn’t commit. Their claims of how awful ‘we’ are never seems to encompass themselves in the ‘we.’ Saying America is a racist nation is never meant to suggest that the speaker is a racist — it’s his neighbors who are the racists.

Sad that most Americans don't even know what socialism is. To them it's a political indictment without knowing the facts. I doubt if any of the individuals who scream socialism have read the Communist Manifesto or Das Kapital to know what socialism is, and are just spouting off political rhetoric for talking points.

Socialism does imply not only the transfer of wealth, it implies the equal distribution of wealth, and as long as only 1% of America's population holds over 90% of its wealth, we are nowhere near to becoming a socialist country. When the government takes that wealth away and distributes it among the populace, then that claim would be valid.

The Roman Empire had pensions resembling social security, mail service, a form of welfare for the widows and disabled, libraries and one of the first modern fire departments, yet they were far from becoming socialist, and the term hadn't even been invented. What they were was a society of laws just like the U.S. is, who realizes that certain social welfare programs not only benefit the populace, that they are completely necessary for an orderly society. Usually the nations without them are Third or even Fourth world nations where over half of their population lives in complete poverty, the mortality rates are high and chaos rules.

I suggest some reading, even of the definition of Socialism. Having spent much of my life in the military and having visited true socialist nations, I know the U.S. isn't close. Canada has a form of socialism as does Germany, Denmark, most of Scandinavia and a lot of Europe, but it still isn't Marxist/Engels socialism. Not even close.

Socialism /ˈsoʊʃəlɪzəm/ is an economic system characterised by social ownership and control of the means of production and cooperative management of the economy,[1] and a political philosophy advocating such a system. "Social ownership" may refer to any one of, or a combination of, the following: cooperative enterprises, common ownership, direct public ownership or autonomous state enterprises.

Fringe ideologies started by wacked-out amphetamine addicts with questionable hygiene habits makes for the best comedy, and also those who espouse the theology make for the best unintentional comedians.

Here's a piece of comedy for you Libertarians-

What's so funny about this flick? It's all in the numbers-

Budget-$20 million dollars
Box Office-$4,627,375

And the kicker is the producers are having trouble coming up with money for the inevitable part II. I wonder why...

I hear they're killing it on Netflix, though...LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Not enough special effects, blood and guts, killings, and car chase sences for the modern American. No name actors, low budget, poorly produced film has nothing to do with Ayn Rands ideas. But if that's what makes you giggle go for it.
Socialism comes in many forms, some like in Denmark, are quite functional, but that's more a testement to Denmarkers than the system.http://www.anu.edu.au/polsci/marx/contemp/pamsetc/socfrombel/sfb_int.htm

Part II is being filmed as I post this. In fact the budget is considerably larger than before. AS1 used almost no $$$ for marketing, AS2 has a much larger budget.

Cobraboy said it best.

The absolute worst part about welfare is so many of the folks on it refuse to actually look for a job or try to get themselves out of situation they are in because they have grown accustomed to the lifestyle or worst collect while working "off-the books". In my field of work I see it all the time and it ****es me off to no end because these funds are being depleted for those who actually need it. Then of course you have the foreigners who come in and know the system better then those of us that have lived here all their lives and they transfer their properties over to their children and claim to be impoverished so that hey can rake in as much of the system as possible.

Medicaid and Medicare are now completely revamping their system which means less coverage for medical bills for the elderly and disabled, smaller reimbursement rates for providers which is leading many facilities and doctors to out right refuse medicaid patients. Even private insurances are refusing to pay for simple exams. I went for my annual physical and I have pretty good private health insurance and within a month I received a letter from my doctor stating that I owed them for the visit despite the fact that I paid $50 in deductible..??!!? Furious I called my insurance and they have yet to give a justifiable answer has to why they were refusing to pay. Its turning into crap out here in the states.

Berzin, everything all right? You seem to have become very bitter and angry.

Everything's fine.

Just getting a little sick and tired of some people using this board to drone on endlessly with their boring, repetitive, right-wing political agendas and hate-mongering attacks, that's all.

This is the clown bin, after all-why is it getting hijacked by the same people saying the same things day after day?

And it's going to be the same smashing success Part I was. A real classic in the mold of Godfather I and II. NOT.

some things in this life are as predictable as night following day. every time a black man loses his life in an incident which has questionable racial undertones, it is but a short matter of time before a peripheral story surfaces, in which some white person is said to have been attacked by a group of wilding black adolescents, hell bent on exacting random revenge upon any white person within arms length. in this latest contretemps, involving Trayvon Martin, we now have this story of a youngster having been attacked by marauding black youths, who attempted to set him ablaze with the help of gasoline and a BIC disposable lighter. so, bob saunders submits his opinion, suggesting that this type of debacle is germinated by the ministrations of Al Sharpton, a negative influence, to his thinking, upon the black community. a few points of order here, bob. firstly, Al Sharpton has very limited influence upon the collective mindset of the black community. his sway is highly overrated. he is like a whack a mole, in that his head pops up, intermittently, and he goes subterranean as soon as the furor blows over. if anyone is to be considered an influence upon a community, i suggest you consider the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Drudge, Beck, O'Reilly, and the rest of the pantheon of angry white talk show radio hosts, who are on the air every day, and have listenerships that number in the millions.on the average day, Sharpton does not cross the consciousness of the average black person. ironically, more white people ponder the existence, and relevance of Sharpton, on a daily basis, than do blacks

2 doctor-prescribed dexamyls-low dose amphetamine and barbituate-a day is an addict? Think you might be exaggerating just a little, Comrade?

Steve Jobs used LSD.

Carl Sagan was a pothead.

Doc Ellis pitched a no-hitter on LSD.

Edgar Allen Poe was an opium addict.

Bill Clinton and Obama used drugs.

Bill Gates used LSD.

Abe Lincoln smoked hemp.

Sigmund Freud did coke.

Winston Churchill did opium.

About 99% of musicians use drugs.

But Rand is to be criticized for her doctor-prescribed diet pills. Okey Dokey. Gotcha...

One can determine true fear in neo-communists by how often they attempt personal destruction.

If only you had actually READ Rand, Comrade, instead of repeating Overlord takes. If you actually had read any Rand you'd find that she was an Objectivist and had a poor opinion of libertarians. So you actually have something in common with Ayn Rand.

Born in Russia to Jews, her family having their property confiscated by the Bolsheviks, educated in Communist state university, emigrating to America where through hard work, intelligence and various forms of guile made a major impact on the lives of many millions.

Was she flawed? Sure. So are you. So am I. So what? All humans are.

Comrade, your obsession is quite impressive. Do they sell these at the Peoples Cooperative?

This is what you do with your spare time? This is why you moved to Jarabacoa, to rant and name-call on the internet?

Maybe you should rekindle your relationship with JimmyDR. You sound like you need a weekend at Bernie's in Sosua.

Nope. Hardly a rant, Comrade. More like a mirror. You name called. I just repeated it and changed the nouns...

But if you're sick and tired, maybe you need a break. Maybe a weekend at Bernies with JimmyDR.
