I understand, I know quite a few places that charge 100-150 pesos but they are not on the beach. Besides,I do like Capitalenos do, I come with a cooler and do it my own mixing, much more economical (just kidding !).
For regular tourists though, a mixed drink would be 400+ pesos where they are from (without the view), so they think they are getting a deal.

I thought the bar accepted rate in LT was RD125 for a cuba or santo libre and the same for a medium Presidente.....but did note that the prices started moving upwards at the back end of last year. Mojitos charged about that price for a medium Presidente when I was last there a couple of months back.

That beer price seemed universally accepted even when the 'fairs' came to town and at Punta Poppi when the makeshift bars were set up on holidays. Seems the rules have been trashed.

for regular tourists, an escort service will hit you for 250 dollars an hour for the girl where they come from. than does not mean that some Dominican chica trying to stick you up for 5 large for a quickie isn?t robbing you.

In LT, hang on to your escort service fee and go to La Bodega instead.

I think they even upped the price of a small Presidente from 125rd to 150rd recently too!!

I am not versed in Presidente pricing since they make me pee like a horse, and there is usually no bathrooms to my standard around (to be honest, I am also afraid to get that infamous Presidente gut :cheeky:)

But Cuba libre and Santo libre have always been more expensive than beer in my experience (150 and up). A mojitos at Mojitos is, if I recall well, 200 or 250 pesos (yummy though !).

Note: I am referring to beach bar prices, I it is always cheaper at the local colmado, but I am not sure that 100 pesos saved is worth loosing hearing in my right ear (I wont get into the stares, lol)

What is this all about, where is this coming from?

Look, once issued, a Fatwa can not be recalled except through a ruling by the Grand Fatwa Triumpherate which only convenes every 100-years.

I'm sorry, my Fren.
lmao, you have a good sense of humour my fren

If you need someone to interview the local girls in LT let me know and I will join the team. MY spanish is not great but I make up for it with excellent body languange.

So...are you accusing Granca of being cheap....and shouldn't you be putting up your personal info for "dissing" him?

You are doing exactly what you just complained about.

Touche....

Respectfully,
Playacaribe2

Actually it's not the same at all! It is stated on dr1 if you diss a business you put up your personal info! No where does it state about calling people cheap and having to put it up! Lmao nice try!

He clearly made a diss so...

Well....if you are correct....then this thread will be closed until Granca posts his personal info.

And...if you are wrong...the thread will remain open without his personal info.....or at least won't be closed for the reason you mention.

It's that simple.

LOL....its more than 5 euros.... beer in bar in Spain is 1,5-2 euros, cuba libre probably around 2 euros... while in Spain you dont have stray dogs running around you and idiots on noisy motorbikes.

They are not exactly rip off places they geared toward Tourists, 250 pesos for a Cuba libre is indeed cheap for someone coming with dollars or Euros.

thats very interesting what you posted here, but I was living in Spain one year ago and the beer costs there around 1-1,5 eur for 0,33 l - in Granada, Malaga, Alicante...sometimes they even give you some basic meal - 2 euros with beer
and in Poland ? the beer is 1-2 euros for 0,5 l....no stray dogs, no idiots around you, no hassle, nice bars

One of the redneck bars around here in NY has 20 wings and a pitcher of beer(~1.5 l) for $12 on Tuesday nights while the college town bars it's more than $12 just for a pitcher of beer served with red plastic cups..
