Must be someone from DR1 that wrote that on Facebook. SMH
IF that were true it would be all over the place in the news.
They are not from Washington Heights........

So let's say the husband wasn't involved. There are over 100 mega AI resorts in Punta Cana. How many security employees are employed by just one of these resorts? I would imagine several hundred. Where do they get people for these jobs? I would assume from all over the country. So the resorts have hired 200,000 to 300,000 security guards in a short period of time. Are all of these guards fine upstanding citizens? I doubt it. That is another angle to consider. Maybe SKY can comment since he was an manager at one of these properties.

fine upstanding citizens in respect to what?

maybe if a guest left a room door open, with money in plain sight, some of these employees might get light fingered, and help themselves. if a guest left a cellphone on the dining table, in full view of some of these workers, maybe it would suddenly develop legs.

this is not a case of upstandingness, or lack thereof.. this is a hotel employee purportedly beating a guest to within inches of her life. the moving parts are different.

Total employees? Yes. Security staff alone numbering several hundred per resort, not quite.

The moving parts are very different. As this thread has shown, some see this, others refuse to do so. We all have different tint within our glasses.

Maybe a cop can weigh in and correct me, but I thought in a criminal investigatiion the cops assume no one is innocent/not guilty, cast a wide net, then eliminate suspects.

Cops presume innocence until proven guilty. Their job is to gather evidence and charge/arrest the suspect when the evidence is there to convict.

LOL!

We watched the 1985 Clue movie last night, starring Martin Mull, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd and the voluminous Colleen Camp. They had four different outcomes to the crime. :cheeky:

What a cast! Sadly it's not on Netflix.

Were there any Russians registered there?

Do you have the 70 to 100k to file the querella for this lady? Do you know the difference between a denuncia vs querella? Apparently most the country DR...it's courts...judges..lawyers can not even understand their own laws in escrito.

Yah probably she did in a denuncia...imagine being a victim of a crime and having to assume large legal expenses to do a querella to prosecute a criminal case...and yet even then with the querella the so called Fiscalia continues the next year with their fake conciliatory fake judge game resulting in no real investigation of the crime whatsoever and further aggravation and financial losses now to the victim....lol.

go back and read the description of the room she was unable to get out of for eight hours..........

only thing missing was rats scampering all over the floor

She did mention in one of the many reports I have read, that she threw rocks to be heard. The service tunnels (crawlspaces) are poured concrete and provide access to water pipes and such. Where did she find the rocks??? Especially in alleged pitch black conditions with eye swollen shut???

In the many reports? I have read several and each one is different. Doubt that is the victims doing, just the interpretation/or writers choice. Why is it so hard to believe this did not happen or could not happen?

Who in this entire thread as said this did not happen or could not happen ?? can you name one such poster .
And how could the victim possibly do this to herself ?
Are you reading a different Story ?

Wait , Please disregard my post .... Seems you are talking about the WRITERS way of telling the story, each one interpreting the story in a different way .. ?
then I agree . .. Sorry for my prev post ..

Sleuths, check the register for the night in question to see if anybody was registered under these names or variations thereof: Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard or Mrs. White.

Since the resort employs butlers, it seems obvious to me that one of the butlers did it.

I have that experience.

Twice.

One was a burglary, and one a home invasion while we were sleeping.

I know others who have been victims of crime, some violent, who also had their cases taken seriously.

And while it was not like calling the cops in the states, the resolution was proper, the perps caught and justice delivered.

I am sorry your situation has jaded you so much.

Well probably those imputados just couldn't pay the get out of jail fee to the authorities...if you get my drift.....Yah maybe I'm jaded.....but I don't think so......

I used to work close to this field; don't want to go into details on where I worked and exactly what I did, but when it came to a rape, there was no DNA testing, rape kits or getting samples of scraps under the nails of the victim. The procedure was like this: Medico legista examined the person and determined if there was penetration, if it was recent or not, and if there was violence involved like bruises, cuts, etc. That was pretty much it. Then there was the "he said-She said" part. As far as I know, not much advance has been made in the forensic part ever since.

This week TravelZoo began featuring a package to Punta Cana for $549, airfare and AI accommodations. After the Majestic story broke, their Facebook ad for the package has been ripped to shreds by people commenting. Today’s Diario Libre headline is about Dominican tourism being at the epicenter of the Punta Cana attack.

https://www.diariolibre.com/actuali...cional-por-incidente-en-punta-cana-BI12927017

Violence in Mexico (Playa del Carmen) has significantly curtailed tourism there. And Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta have become ghost destinations, now only for the uninformed and rich drug dealers on holiday. They were once bustling posh hotel beach resorts frequented by the Hollywood crowd and spring break college trips. A handful of incidents can certainly kill an tourism economy.

Imagine the if what happened in Mazatlan with the murders and decapitation of a few people happened in Punta Cana....this country would go into flat-line status
