I think that people are going to be going out more and more, even after curfew.
2 weeks was more than enough for most dominicans to go crazy in their house.

It is one thing to us ( expats) to stay at home : we have big houses, large grounds, a pool, internet, etc..... to keep us amused.
Imagine living in a house with 3 generations of family, one bathroom, a bunch of kids running around.screaming, iffy internet, etc....... i'd be out of there after 2 days.......

What was that saying about issuing orders that you know will not be obeyed ?

What's so hard about staying at home between 5pm and 6am? I don't think that many Dominicans will be out and about during curfew hours. There's nothing open anyways - nowhere to go and police are patrolling the streets during curfew and breaking up groups during non-curfew hours.

There is no order to stay in your house during normal hours. The president asked that people stay at home as much as possible during non-curfew hours and only go out for essential business.

It after curfew now and the traffic is still passing in and out of the barrio by my place. Last night I observed at least ten people walking after seven.

This has been common in my hood. Also there's a mad Moto tiguere who passes 2 or 3 times a night at top speed. Sound like he has removed the muffler like they do on the 31st. When he passes I wish him goodwill an happiness

It's times like these you say to yourself " now where did I leave that sniper rifle".
Before anyone gets their panties in a knot, I wouldn't shoot the rider. It would be a lot more fun to shoot the bike and watch him cry until he can get a new one.
We need amusement in these times

We always stayed at home (our maids called in sick) during "Holy" week. Too many people fornicating, getting drunk, driving drunk, beating wives, beating kids, shooting guns in the air, starting fights with neighbors, crashing cars, crashing bikes, getting underage girls pregnant, playing insipid bachata music, playing vile reggaeton ghetto dweller trash music, drug overdoses, domincan yorks showing off their welfare and unemployment money, throwing garbage into rivers, throwing garbage on beaches, on the road and in front of your neighbor's house.

What a tragic loss that low iq folks cant carry on like animals this year :)

Thank God me and my family can be in the greatest Country God has ever blessed. God Bless USA and God bless Donald Trump !!

Yesterday in my immediate area was a party... music ,booze no distancing and no PPE whatsoever about 12 people .
Most so called role models in the Education system.
What kind of an example is that.
I stay home.
Got enough to survive on for about 6 weeks or more.
But really ****ed that cows who do not observe our isolation rules broke into my property and ate my Orchids.
If that is the worse that happens I am blessed.

Wow last year when I was living in las terrenas, I had to go back to my country couple days before the Semana Santa and this year when I came back to the DR I said to myself this year I'll go and have fun because I always hear people say something good about the Semana Santa but oh well I guess this isn't that year to go again maybe some next year but its good for people because this virus is not a joke right now.

I was at the beach this afternoon - just a beer and enjoying the view..

Another family was in sight - children/parents splashing & swimming

A CESTUR man came by alone and advised us the this week - Semana Santa - no beach activity
I pointed out that we were distant... not grouping... and he referenced Semana Santa

I got the definite impression that the enforcement is more for this week than for the general curfew

For some reason this thread reminds me of a tape recently shared on FB.

There was a group of ladies that were sitting on plastic chairs by the curb in one of the barrios, I assume it was in SD. One had her feet up on another chair, basically taking up two. They were relaxing, chatting, looking at their nails..... then they rushed away. What happened? A Dominican group of authorities approached where they were, two motorbikes and a pick up truck. They picked up the chairs the women left and placed them behind the pick up truck.

Everything was captured on a security camera right by where they were, but I can't find the video in Youtube. I have never seen a group of ladies disappear so fast when they spotted the authorities approaching them. Funny, to say the least.

In the lockup here in Cabrera last night

5 women - 9 men - separate male/female cells

In the morning they were all trucked to La Entrada to clean the beach and the casetas....

Then released.........
