Bonito70 -Planner doesn't care what people think so dont worry yourself she doesn't.
Ask people to bring you a newspaper and a box of chocolates to your wedding then it will fit in to the threads.

Here we are... planner abuse right there.

Can we all just grow up?!!! Since we seem to be stuck on the subject of wasted space, lets look at all the crap like this that is posted.

Please be nice.

For those of you who are lurking and have returned, tell us all what the best meal that you had at HV was & where you had it.

Ive just come from spending 2 hours at the hotel.

YES everyone I met RON - he is a nice guy - but don't tell him I said that. I also met several others. Everyone is having a good time!!!

There are still some issues at the hotel and they are being addressed. IT does seem like the major issues have been dealt with but there is still some fine tuning to be done!

Hats off to Gomez and Miguel - according to the folks I was with they are awesome.

The major discussion was the lack of local entertainment and flavour. Apparently First Choice and Signature are listening to the feedback and looking into options for other entertainment.

Ha ha Ron - I beat you.......

riduculous

My goodness you guys can get nasty when you choose to be.

Why bite off the hand that feeds the information? Planner has done nothing except answer as many questions as she possibly can - offer her own personal opinions when asked for it, and instead of being appreciative of her help you go throwing stones.

Back to lurking - I don't want to be associated with any of this crap.

Ron - I'm looking forward to your posts. Enjoy the last few days of your trip!
I agree, this used to be a great place to come and read about where we were hoping to go and things we were hoping to see. People we were hoping to meet up with and a nice friendly place. Now thanks to a few cranky pants, (nicest thing I can think of) it is not what it used to be. I will keep scanning from time to time, but some of the negativity that has nothing to do with the resort is making this hard to take on a daily basis.

Horses

;)
Hi Planner and everyone out there with good info,

Is the Freestyle catamaran trip appropriate for young kids?
Would you recommend the Dune Buggies for kids (not as drivers but passengers)?

Also, on our last trip to the DR we went on a free horseback riding trip through the hotel...the stable was owned by a lady formerly from Boston or maybe N.Y.
Can anyone give me the name of that business, or another horse back riding excursion that would be good for families?
Thanks.

Hello!

I got back last week from HVGB and I booked my tours with Isaira. Martin is a great man and I had a horse conversatin with him ... I teach horseback riding and own horses, so am very saddened by the look of horses in DR. I know that this is a different culture, but with my horses being so pampered, I sometimes wish I could bring a few from DR home to fatten them! Anyways, Martin said that if I wanted to go horseback riding, he could book this for me with a stable that have very well fed good looking horses ...

So if you are like me, give Martin a call or email, he'll gladly take care of this for you!

I am just stating a fact I am going to go to this thread not one labeled wedding if I'm not getting married, but if I am on this & someone asks a question I may be able to give an answer but not if we keep telling people they can't talk about which team they support or their upcoming wedding. This is an open forum & everyone should be able to talk about what they need infor on whether it is wedding, beach chairs or rooms! Now let all just speak freely.

OMG get over it already!

My my,aren't we all just arguing like old married couples.I agree if your going to HVGB for a wedding then technicially yes it should be able to be discussed here.I think that however many of us aren't getting married there and another more speciefied thread could be benificial.Although, yes we do often stray from the conversation topic, but it livens things up a bit now doesn't it? I geuss with ottawsenators away we all decided to cause a bit of rucus of our own eh?

17 more sleeps till our trip.I am pacing myself for the hurrendius(sp?) sunburn Im going to get.:ermm:

Oh man I am so with you on dreading my sunburn, last time i needed to see a doctor and get a special cream, can anyone tell me what time of day is the hotest point for the sun? In canada usually 12-2, in costa rica is was more like 9-11 which is why I got burnt so bad!

Cheers

Have you been fake tanning Leafy? I have been going since October and all of the people at work are jealous already hehehehe.

Getting a base tan helps a lot.

I have never been a fan of the fake and bake, mainly b.c of cancer, do you really think it helps that much? I am pure cake so I do not have the ability to tan like any European would or someone with that heritage...any pure cakes that fake and bake? your thoughts?

Fake n bake

I think it helps, although I must admit that I do have concerns about cancer also, but I justify it by thinking that a sunburn would do more to cause cancer. I'm not a doctor and I am probably not right about that, but at least I have brown skin lol.

I am naturally pretty white too and if I start out slow I can get quite dark.

For those of you who have been or are already down there... Can you give me some ideas on what trips are worth while going on? There will be 17 of us coming on Feb 15 for 2 weeks. There are 6 teenage boys ranging in ages 14-18 and 11 adults (WE ARE ALL YOUNG AT HEART). Any suggestions????
Thanks

Ya efoley81. I have been burned like that in the past too. Not fun at all and sooooo painfull. Before my fake n bake days I spent a whole week in the shade in Mexico becuase I was dum enough not to wear any sunscreen at all for the first day by the pool. Booze, pool, and stupid paleface girl.... BAD combination.

I still wear sunscreen when I go in the sun the higher the SPF the better, the fake tan and sunscreen help me to keep from becoming a piece of bacon.
