The mayor of Santiago is doing all in his power to ensure people stay 6 feet away when waiting on lines. Either comply or the fire department is going to douse you with water and force you to maintain the proper space.
HCQ has to be part of a cocktail that includes azithromycin and zinc.I've seen no mention of hydroxychloroquine on this thread for a while, so I am hopeful that this dangerous nonsense about it being a cure for Covid-19 has finally been put to bed. Numerous members of this forum have been pushing hydroxychloroquine as a cure for Covid-19 based solely on testimonial videos from quack doctors and a certain President. Results released from studies all over the world in the past couple of weeks have proven that hydroxychloroquine has no benefit whatsoever in curing Covid-19 or reducing symptoms. In fact many deaths have been caused by the experimental administering of this drug. And the latest results from an extensive study by the U.S. Veterans Administration comparing Covid-19 patients who were given HCQ with patients who were not given HCQ showed that those patients who were given HCQ had a death rate more than double that of those who were not given HCQ. This tends to confirm results from a recent French study showing that HCQ actually accelerated the death of Covid-19 patients.

Hydroxychloroquine as treatment for COVID-19 shows no benefit and more deaths in VA study
President Trump has frequently touted the malaria drug as a potential breakthrough in the ongoing coronavirus fight.www.marketwatch.com
I can provide links for numerous other scientific studies with the same results if anybody is interested. But I am hopeful that we can all put this dangerous HCQ nonsense to bed. There are indeed many drugs that offer promise for reducing the symptoms of Covid-19, but hydroxychloroquine is not one of them.
50 to 85 times completely changes the morbidity to near seasonal flu-like numbers.Statistical findings of a survey just released by Stanford University just found out that the Santa Clara real infection rate is 50 to 85 times higher than official published positive cases. The Stanford University estimated there were up to 81000 positive cases first days of April compared to 900+ reported based on a randomized study. Most of the tested (tested for antibodies) had no signs or symptoms of coronavirus, which means they are asymptomatic and passed through the viral stage without even being aware of it. That would bring the reported death rate to about 0.12%.

I have not read one person say hydroxychloroquine was a "cure", rather a treatment to buy time so the body can catch up.
Thats correct. That is the formula the French used, and the Jewish doctor in New York.HCQ has to be part of a cocktail that includes azithromycin and zinc.
I have seen nothing that says HCQ by itself works.

BTW people are dropping like flies in my neighborhood. One old lady downstairs got carted off in the ambulance and I was surprised when she came back a few days later. The ambulance picked someone up last night. This is also the first time I have seen a hearse in this country.
I would like to say that I am impressed with the professionalism in the hospital. I got wheeled around and treated well by everyone. My Humano insurance was accepted and my co-pay worked out at about 6 bucks for everything.
Be it HCQ or anything else, it was best to try and fail than not even try it in the first place.
Desperate times begets desperate measures.
I applaud Trump for sticking to his guns and letting doctors decide if and when to try it, without red tape to hold them back.
In the DR we received plenty of these to try and carry out our own clinical trials. Those patients facing imminent death received a last option treatment. Some recover, some don’t, but they gave it their best and tried to save them.
Let’s not politicize potential treatments, even one life saved is precious.
Easy to say then it's not your life or a loved one. Doctors take an oath to "Do no harm"Be it HCQ or anything else, it was best to try and fail than not even try it in the first place.

Thank you for what you post, for being the voice of reason. This controversy began with post #2070 which specifically references HCQ as "a cure". From there it got amplified by other posters insisting that that it was accepted science that HCI is effective in fighting Covid-19. They cited the fact that the Dominican Republic had purchased 50,000 doses of the drug to use on all their Covid-19 cases as proof positive. Post #2208 had a video from a snake oil salesman attesting to the efficacy of HCQ in fighting Covid-19. Post #2219 insisted that "doctors in the U.S. were having very good results with HCQ" without citing any data to back up that statement. Post #2253 stated that HCQ had been approved by the FDA as an effective treatment for Covid--19 when in fact the FDA has never approved HCQ for that purpose but instead simply allowed the use of HCQ on an experimental basis which simply means that doctors who decide to prescribe it could no longer be criminally prosecuted. Post #2261 quoted some Hasidic doctor who claimed to have 100 percent success in curing 350 patients with Covid-19 by using HCQ. Post #2264 stated that "thousands of doctors agree that HCQ is the best treatment for patients with Covid-19 " without offering any supporting data. Should I continue with more examples of misinformation?
