So the mayor of Puerto Plata does the Covid-19 test and results are positive, also the PEREGRINO (the guy that created that mass of people in the video) also did the test and came back POSITIVE.

I will not be surprised if a new bout of Covid-19 takes places in Puerto Plata, maybe similar to what happened in San Francisco de Macoris. With so many people following him, he had to infect a lot of them. For now most newly infected are asymptomatic, but actively spreading their infections to others including loved ones. Not to be an alarmist, but nothing good can come out of this.

How many of them live in Sosua, say Los Charamicos? Only need one careless person to start a new hot spot of Covid-19.

The percentage of survivors due to ventilators in general could be inflated, but don't know by how much. Last year I was intubated with two tubes that were placed through the mouth for three days. I simply passed out while they were doing things to me in the emergency room. I was confused what all those people in the emergency room were doing to me, plus threw up who knows how many times on myself with eventually the whole breakfast out and continue to throw up saliva since the stomach was completely empty at that point. Saw one of the guys rip with a sissor through my pants and belt to take them off, watch was taken off by someone, then I simply gave up. Next thing I know was waking up in the ICU room with that thing already in place and the usual million needles poking both arms and connected to several machines next to the bed. One of those tubes had to be a feeding one, probably the nutrients rather than actual food, because I never ate during those days, yet was never hungry. The point is that I still question if I really needed that (threw up saliva several times because sometimes I would move and that tube would tap part of my throat and initiated that reflex, the most annoying thing on the planet). I'm sure it was done as a precaution, but in the statistics my number is of the "survivor" of that thing. How many more people that didn't need it to survive were put on it to make the numbers look good.
Ventilators are fine. They are common in ICU's. Heck, back in the day, we maintained vents at home, usually on kids.

Mom CB was sedated on a vent for 8 days in ICU at Corominas. It gave her a chance to clear up pneumonia. I am surprised you weren't sedated because it helps prevent the gag reflex.

It is the CV19 patients put on vents that have an abnormally high mortality rate. There are numerous speculations as to why that I won't go into here, but if you hear of someone with CV19 going on a vent, that is the sports possible news...except death itself.

In fact, I have read that intensivists are moving away from vents and toward O2 CPAP, or just high-flow O2.

I have no idea if there was any sedation at the time of the emergency or if there was no need for it due to naturally losing consciousness. I did had several close relative visiting in the ICU room and among the several gag reflexes while I had those tubes, there was one instance that I moved a little bit to see better one relative (vision was impaired at the moment, basically turning in circles and intensifying as I moved my eyes to the right; as a consequence I stared mostly to the upper left where the vision was still and I didn't see double of everything; the double vision stopped within 4 or 5 days, but the turning in circles continued for a long time, though gradually slowing down) and the tube hit my throat again and the gag reflex hit immediately.

I also had another time, already moved out of ICU and placed in a singles room, when according to the nurses they lowered the blood pressure too low. At that moment there was one relative in the room. They had brought the lunch, but I couldn't eat it. According to her, my lips turn blue, so she ran out to get a nurse. It even reminded me when one of my grandmothers died in front of me (at that time I was around 3 or 4 years old), because she mention, while collapsed on a sofa and several people trying to comfort her, that she felt cold and was shivering, then that it was hot and then said that she will be fine, and that was it. I felt the shivers and the intense cold, then it quickly turn to heat; but, by that time several nurses rushed in and did something to the machine I was connected to. Within a few moments it was as if nothing had happened.

Anyway, the Covid situation in Puerto Plata doesn't look too good for the next few weeks. I expect an explosion of symptoms there within 14 days.

Proverbs 12:15-25
The way of fools is right in their own eyes,
but those who listen to advice are the wise.
16 Fools immediately show their anger,
but the shrewd conceal contempt.
17 Whoever speaks honestly testifies truly,
but the deceitful make lying witnesses.[a]
18 The babble of some people is like sword thrusts,
but the tongue of the wise is healing.
19 Truthful lips endure forever,
the lying tongue, for only a moment.[b]
20 Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy.
21 No harm befalls the just,
but the wicked are overwhelmed with misfortune.
22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who are truthful, his delight.
23 The shrewd conceal knowledge,
but the hearts of fools proclaim folly.[c]
24 The diligent hand will govern,
but sloth makes for forced labor.
25 Worry weighs down the heart,
but a kind word gives it joy.

Excellent! We're going to beat the record of 2 million infecte dpeople.. 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Nobody is better than us 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Thank you!! To all the animals, thank you to Puerto Plata for being an example on how to fu** the whole country!

Not very smart, but then maybe not bad for DR. Opposite of flatten the curve strategy... But then when was the first wave? 278 deaths so far in the whole country despite two elections, celebrations caravans etc.? "Maybe" lol, the virus is not what the media tells us it is.

Why?

He is permitted to be in public during the non-curfew hours. As are all the others.

Now "social distancing" is another issue. Where are the firetrucks blasting water on the SD violators?

Besides: arresting this guy would be a major political blunder.
Perhaps actually having him use the cross for what it was intended would be the solution?

What if there is NOT a "huge new wave" in Puerto Plata the next 11 days/2 weeks?

That is what all should be hoping for.

Of course, but what would be the conclusions? We have some sort of herd immunity after this winter´s all cruise ships, all flights, even direct flights from Milan/China, the lack of social distance...let´s get back to normal life and open up relatively fast?

The official response struck a reasonable balance between respecting people's beliefs and stressing the importance of scientific facts.
