Pharmacies closed?I don't understand them closing pharmacies. Do they have any evidence of a spread from pharmacies?

Like any company, they're in business to make money. All the money they pay to the employees, suppliers, and tour operators all goes back into the local economy. The only ones benefiting from the domestic hoards are foreign-owned companies (resorts) that leave as little money as possible in the country.
Then I wonder why a poster above said their pharmacy won't let them enter from January 1 to January 10?The one you posted is not the official decree by Abinader. Nowhere in Abinader's decree does it say that restaurants, farmacias, and colmados are delivery only. It says that they can continue to deliver until 11pm. It also says that bars, restaurants, and colmados cannot have clients that consume on premises. That means you can get takeout from the bars and restaurants, and purchase food and drink from the colmados, as long as it's not consumed on premises.
See Articulos 5 and 6 in post #43.
Nothing was ever said about pharmacies being closed. Nothing.Pharmacies closed?
Remember this is about saving lives. Your access to normal medications can wait.
Thankfully my renter is the manager of a local Pharmacy and she has no problem bring home whatever medicines we require.I have read the documents about this. Restaurants, Pharmacies and Collmados are NOT CLOSED. They are DELIVERY ONLY. There is a difference in that you cannot go into them, you have to call them and have them deliver to your house unless there was a change since the documents I posted above. .
I can't explain what other people think or say. There is no restriction on farmacias mentioned in Abinader's decree. Here is another official post from the office of the President. WW posted this earlier. It says again what was in the decree. I'll go with what the official decree says:Then I wonder why a poster above said their pharmacy won't let them enter from January 1 to January 10?
And why are other people "getting it wrong" in the DR news and on line posts with official looking and clearly stated points about the decree?
Picking up some take out from a restaurant or colmado does seem to be allowed during non curfew hours, but once again you are not supposed to go inside.
There is also a little exception in the decree for people that want to go to a pharmacy for an emergency, but I am guessing you may not be allowed inside.

So I am going with the Cerrados Al Publico for Restaurantes, Bares y Colmadones as I said from the beginning:

Please. The natives aren't stupid enough to put others at risk for a damn drink, and because they think they have some sort of magical understanding of how viruses are transmitted.Let's hope the natives are revolting.
Starting December 31:
Monday - Friday curfew will be 5 pm to 5 am
Saturday and Sunday 12 noon to 5 am
This will continue until January 10
scotch or rum ???Please. The natives aren't stupid enough to put others at risk for a damn drink, and because they think they have some sort of magical understanding of how viruses are transmitted.
DR is going into shutdown mode, largely because of bad choices like the ones you enjoy promoting. Hopefully, between that and the Oxford vaccines, they'll be able to protect themselves from stupid, self-indulgent choices made by North Americans desperate to travel.
Where does it say that pharmacies have to close and be delivery only? Read it carefully. It says bars colmados and restaurants are delivery only. And it says delivery drivers from these and from pharmacies can work until 11pm. Nothing about pharmacies having to close.I have read the documents about this. Restaurants, Pharmacies and Collmados are NOT CLOSED. They are DELIVERY ONLY. There is a difference in that you cannot go into them, you have to call them and have them deliver to your house unless there was a change since the documents I posted above. .
Try running a Dominican company and you will see how much tax you have to pay. A huge amount of the money generated in Bávaro stays in the country.Like any company, they're in business to make money. All the money they pay to the employees, suppliers, and tour operators all goes back into the local economy.
Yes but it's better to use a taxi that has permission. Travel to and from airports is allowed but the person picking you up should have your flight details etc if they don't have permission to drive during the curfew. Our flight arrives in POP at 2 pm this Saturday. Will my ride be able to pick me up?
I don't think they will. Travel to and from AIs is not an official exemption. Not all for sure, but I know a lot of Dominicans go the the AI's on tour packages. I'm sure the tour buses will get a special exemption.
Welcome to the great reset. As I told my wife 10 months ago, this will never end. At least life will never be the same again.I would be out there applauding them! But burning tires is not exactly going to get the politicians' attention.
Maybe not, but that will be unfortunate and difficult to explain considering all the benefits and enticements tourists are getting including being able to travel to and from airports at whatever hour and Dominicans will not be given the same consideration(?).I don't think they will. Travel to and from AIs is not an official exemption.
Yes it has gotten attention in past demonstrations. Maybe burning them at airport entrances would be most effective? Could you only imagine demonstrations shutting down PUJ or SDQ? The press coverage would be worldwide.I would be out there applauding them! But burning tires is not exactly going to get the politicians' attention.
Which pharmacy? I would like to investigate that.I cannot answer that. But I do know that the husband of a pharmacy owner in Sosua recently died of COVID.
