Now that you mention it, my Sirius has been sounding a little off lately, like the channel selector on the radio is one off.

But my radio has bluetooth so maybe I should give it a shot and see how it works.

I can see it if you have good signal strength from the towers around you. No such thing for me. I don't have good signal strength in San Cristobal from either (cel phone or Sirius antenna)

I barely get one bar of signal strength in Haina. Too close to the ocean.

I've got a touch screen tablet radio with a sim so it's like having a cel phone radio in the car. But it still depends on cel tower signal strength

then it stopped.... while my wife had it.... her fault, first reaction

took it to the local guy ... again

rips the door apart, checks the little motor.... it’s fine

slide guides are sticky

out comes the whole shebang....
cleansed and regreased..... WD40... every workers friend

45 minutes later.... like new again

The whole world was in line !!

I spent my time in the line helping women carry their 5 gal tanks...

Wasn't all bad....
Got $$$ at the ATM..... croissants from the French guy for Christmas morning...

Just the propane line..... I should have known better

Another easy peasy day

Local ATM was malfunctioning.... wouldn't spit out the $$... but charged my account!!
Fixed in 2 hrs by Scotia itself... no call/complaining from me

This happened while I was getting the annual service on a car.

Oil - $2,150..... labor $200.... = Done
20 minutes

Rotate tires
$200 total
$100 peso tip to the muchacho..... done in 15 minutes

No appt necessary.... drive-thru service

Pull the old filter
New oil & filter..5qts

Shouldn't take too long..... some guys do it themselves.....

I'd worry if it took longer
Might prove the tech to be inexperienced...... a stumble bum

Well, I win the award for the dumbest person on the planet....

I get some $$ at the ATM and back up - maybe 3 ft.
Some big truck ahs slid in behind me..... did I look min the rear view camera or mirror ?
NO!!

Crunch.... busted tail light
A small crowd gathers (as always in RD)... a kindly soul picks up the piece on the pavement
and shows me how I can fix it with Coqui..... the 80 peso one not the 50 one.... stronger

So I go to the local repuesto spot and show them my problem - got it , don't worry
Kid comes out with a small tube, we remove the tailight assembly

Glue everything back in place, reinstall the tail light

50 pesos for the special adhesive the store suggested (not Coqui)....
In theory, I owe them nothing more......

I gave the kid 150..... and was on my way..... FIXED !!!
Not 15 minutes of trouble.........

So I explain to the muchacho that I'm going to Sto Dom tomorrow and want my turn signals working.

Well the Sto Dom trip wasn't so easy........ maybe my luck is running out

Used the new bypass road one way - that was nice and easy.....

Had a bit of a start at Nacional....
Patted my pockets for my keys ---- not there !!

Ran back to the car..... rear hatch locked, passenger side locked -
So I got the guard... readied myself for a safe cracker type break-in

Looked in the car & saw the keys...... just commit to the home now!
BUT
I tried the driver's door -- OPEN!!!

Nice to have a car that is smarter than the driver....
never been so happy to be wrong in my life

Whew- dodged a bullet there.........
