At least that's how it is in my circles and generally in polite society. The same goes for all the insults. I was lead to believe that this was verboten on DR1. I can only wish it was true and that things will get cleaned up and those who keep perpetuating these bits of poor behavior will be suitability dealt with and not merely chastised. I will of course leave that to the moderators, as we all should.

I wonder how you think DR1 gets new members? I hope you realize that they come out of interest and good intentions and with zero posts . Some have been lurkers, some were referred, others like me had the link come up while seeking information.

You're correct that I've only made a limited number of posts here but I'm not a total newbie to the DR, the internet, chat sites or even DR1.

It's been an on again off again resource for years. Now that I finally have a little time I thought I'd join up only to be attacked buy the you. Pretty sad welcome

As you posted, many predicted it. Once he couldn’t be a scapegoat he became a media liability for the PN, Justice, and DR tourism. I suspect it was Abinader who sent YBR to sort out the interrogation mess created by the PN. Once she had a sense of him she knew they could never convict him based on the evidence. I would love to have been a fly on the wall during the discussions between YBR, the FBI, the other US enforcement agencies, and Riibe’s lawyer. After that came the Habeas Corpus legal initiative which gave the appearance of justice being done. They could have sent him home without going through that process but justice had to be seen to be done, especially for media purposes. I think the presiding judge made a reasonable decision. No evidence, no further remand, and Riibe’s free to go home. Investigative errors are glossed over, and not even mentioned in court. The loose ends, with the exception of locating her body, were all neatly and legally tied up. As I previously posted, it wouldn’t surprise me if many in the PN, the Justice department, DR Tourism, and government were glad to see the back of him as his plane departed the DR. Not many escape the convoluted PN investigations and DR Justice department machinations. He did. Probably why he is keeping his mouth shut and taking the time to lick his emotional wounds.

Logically the Search is on LAND at this Point . Anything in the Ocean would be beyond decomposition, with zero chance of anything definitive .
My guess is the Family is FUNDING a Land Search at this point ..however futile that may be
Maybe Sky can take a short walk over there and confirm this one way or the other ..
There is no way they just gave up and just took his word for it . Not from a man who just walked away , and did not care about reporting any of it .
Also I believe he was interrogated again in Puerto Rico and since we have heard nothing since then . perhaps he is still there .

And NOT reporting a Drowning is not a crime in itself , but there are exceptions and one can be charged if there is a "special relationship , or one has a DUTY of Care" like a self proclaimed Life Guard perhaps? ( look it up if you dont believe me) They could have charged him with that already. its not a Felony, but enough to keep him in custody perhaps.

So , Land search, and not reporting a "drowning" charges .. covering Both sides ..

Puerto Rico, being a US protectorate would give Riibe, a US citizen, legal rights he didn’t have in the DR. The passport glitch was a problem created by the US Embassy in the DR. I never doubted his return to the US once he lifted off Dominican soil. The delay in PR was a bureaucratic delay. Nothing more.

There is no way in hell he will set foot on DR soil again. I have no doubt US media outlets and talk shows will have a field day with him once he starts talking, and he will. DR media will probably feed off that for a while but their big feeding frenzy diminished as soon as he stepped aboard his flight. The DR media would go into overdrive if he returned to the DR for any reason. Ain’t going to happen if Abinader has anything to do with it.
