Hilton will welcome new all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Dominican Republic next year

Next year, Hilton will welcome another new all-inclusive resort to the family: Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton in the Dominican Republic. This property will be the first-ever Curio Collection all-inclusive resort, reflecting the trend of major hotel companies merging lifestyle or luxury brands (like Curio Collection) with fresh all-inclusive concepts.
In a similar fashion, Marriott recently opened the first-ever Luxury Collection all-inclusive resort, Sanctuary Cap Cana, also in the Dominican Republic.

Great, more AI Resorts & Hotels means more money for hotel itself and destroy DR beaches which means less public beach access for Dominicans.

Good Job, Luis,y ou just shoot your own foot.

But more jobs/employment for Dominicans
I'm all for that but beach grabbing to prevent from Dominicans access to the beach needs to be allowed. I have noticed less and less public beach now. I guess they think money is important than their own country. Sad.

In all my years in the DR, I have never heard anyone (Dominican) complain about beach access. But that is my experience. I think if you asked Dominicans which they preferred, beach access or more employment opportunities, pretty sure most will say employment.

The only time I have heard a complaint was from a Judge who tried to enter the beach at La Hamaca. His "Do you know who I am" didn't impress the guards.

Lol...clearly I am not the only one who has never heard complaints. I have never heard once from a Dominican that their plans to go to the beach were ruined because of access issues. You can't just find negativity in everything the DR does for progress. You say that you live in Cap Cana, so do you agree with how the situation with Juanillo Beach is handled as far as access?

I have a voucher which I can use for a free night at that new Hilton, and I thought I'd pay for a second night, but the prices are eye-watering. From memory it's about US$ 600 a night (at least it was when I last looked).

I know, the prices are high. I looked at some dates in March and the room I was looking at was $614.00 per night. I am sure the price will fluctuate depending on what month (high/low season). I do like the look of it, reminds me of some of the resorts in Punta Mita Mexico.

The reason I chosen Cap Cana because its quiet and peaceful. I dont need the craziness. You need go into the barrio and ask them, you will be surprised. I rest my case. Have a good day

Just what the country needs.
Another hotel. Maybe it will
bring some jobs for the locals.

It also smells like sewage almost everywhere in CapCana, but of course you don't notice it, right? :)

It will bring some jobs. Whether it will be for unemployed locals, that’s the remaining question all over the DR. 80% have to be actual Dominicans, no less. But there is a but…

Economic development to offer more solutions to locals problems suddenly seem like a novel idea.
