It seems the last demo didn't stir up enough trouble. Another is planned and approved in the same place: https://dominicantoday.com/dr/local/2025/04/03/interior-ministry-approves-new-march-in-friusa/
As I posted earlier. I just don't think Dominicans has extremism in them. Only a few. Extremism I don't think will gain traction in the DR. That doesn't mean they are not unhappy with the illegal immigration. Of course they are. I think however many understand that it is Dominicans hiring Haitians.

Let me chime in here.

The goal of these marches is to put the government on notice and raise greater awareness of the fact that the government needs to do their job regarding illegal immigration which is out of control.

No country with roughly 11 million citizens should have millions and millions of illegal immigrants.

It is not feasible.

No argument, Carlos. But if it's correct that the construction companies are the ones keeping the Haitians here for their lower wages, then the govt needs to stop talking out of both sides of their mouths. From where I sit, the govt has no cred.

100%.
It looks like their march got the attention of the immigration authorities. Be it with a few bumps and bruises along the way. Mission accomplished 👍

Government launches major operation in Friusa and Mata Mosquito.
Early Friday morning, Dominican immigration authorities conducted a major operation in the Hoyo de Friusa and Mata Mosquito areas of Punta Cana. The operation, led by Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, Director General of Migration, was carried out in coordination with the National Army and Ciutran, involving over 100 personnel.

So far, 236 undocumented immigrants have been detained, and the operation remains ongoing in the Friusa area, according to official immigration reports.

Nice.
Thanks for sharing.
Some of the the Dominican comments .....

I don't have a problem with the operation, the problem is that those soldiers are going to take him to Haiti today and tomorrow they will let everyone in.

The military on the border are celebrating....You're right, that's a boomerang.

These migration have created a system based on lies, they create their own blackmail but nobody believes them anymore.

Theater, pure theater, something's coming that's going to entertain us with this apparatus... You already know. It's a great business.

Declaration of April 6, 2025 of Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Bellester, General Director of Migración, regarding the migration issues and the new list of things to be made.

Just keep in mind that those in the military, particularly high ranking ones, should always receive respect regardless how much anyone disagree on something he/she says. Any criticism should always be done without violating the respect their titles and/or earned metals demand. They aren’t like politicians.

In the previous video they touch several aspects including:

- Somos Pueblo will not assist similar marches not because of the leaders of the AOD, but of certain characters that they recognized and that had an attitude of basically trouble making.

- They were told that a group of locals (not people from other parts of the DR that went there for the protest, but rather Dominicans that live in the Bávaro/Friusa area) went into Mata Mosquito and had a confrontation with the Haitians.

- They also noted by speaking to many people that live that many aren’t just interested in the illegal immigration issue, but they have a deep hatred of the Haitians. While Somos Pueblo support greater migration control, they say they don’t support hatred. Especially when the issue is created by certain people on top and not the individual Haitians.

They repeat several times the issue isn’t with those in AOD, but below and outsiders looking to take advantage of the situation for their own benefit.

They also touch other things.
Hmm…

Interesting what is touched in this interview Joe Rogan did to Ben Lamm (founder and CEO of Colossal Biosciences), made public today.

That separates the current animals whose ancestors were hunted by this other animal that has been extinct for hundreds of years or many generations ago of the current animals.

There is that past of multiple Haitian invasions of what is now the DR (and then the DR), many of which were very traumatic in the towns captured by them. As much as some want to ignore this, a large segment of modern Dominicans are directly descendants of those that suffered the traumas of those invasions which spanned several years. You have to wonder if there is something going on that is being ignored or diminished by some today, particularly if the descendants of the creators of those multiple traumas spanning several generations of Dominicans on average look different from most Dominicans. If the descendants of those that suffered the traumas are now “inundated” by descendants of those that created the traumas, will the first have an innate desire to reject it?

This may play a role but I don’t think it’s that big. First a trauma mainly affects those who were part in these events. Their descendants do not have that trauma, however they may have a strong opinion based on the stories told. And the thing with trauma’s is that people are reluctant to talk about it.

To make a somewhat comparison, my country was occupied for 5 years by nazi Germany during WW2. The worst period was the “hungerwinter” of 1944. People were actually eating the cats, the dogs and tulip bulbs. Many died. Many survivors had a lifelong trauma and hatred towards the former occupier but didn’t talk much about it. Their children didn’t have those issues and the current generations do not even care about what happened in the past.

"I can definitely say there are fewer Haitians roaming the streets in the morning than before. I’d have to assume this is due to the military’s efforts to clean up the situation in Friusa—it seems like everyone is in hiding. You also don’t see Haitians packed into trucks like sardines anymore. I was told that’s because the trucks were taken away from the construction owners and they’re now facing heavy fines. The construction sites look vacant now, and it makes me wonder—who’s going to finish these projects?"
