    Cost of cab to Las Terrenas from STI

    hi all, What's the cost of a taxi for two people from sti to las terrenas? (Yep, I'm aware of the inexpensive carib tours bus from santo domingo to sanchez and then a guagua from sanchez to las terrenas.) I've searched the boards and don't think this has been asked/answered before. Thanks.

    26% Vat??

    We're in the process of booking a hotel in Santo Domingo for a couple of nights next month for the end of our holiday. I was just about to reserve a room at XXX place and at the fine print said the rate didn't include a 26% VAT. The hotel is a chain and operates worldwide. Is this true? Ack.
