Call centers boom in Santo Domingo

On my way home this August, hoping to engage the call centers and help improve the employees' English pronunciation, as well as their knowledge of U.S. culture and what-have-you. Dominicana, heeeeere I come to save the day: From the Hatsfields and McCoys feuds to the Big Red Machine and the...

Iván Gatón in Politiqueando (8 of April of 2024)

Well, Nals, with respect to this being the best interview, I beg to differ. This was not an actual interview; they simply let him speak, which I enjoyed. Manolo and his partner were both dumbfounded when Iván Gatón spoke about Dominican students not knowing where the Seychelles and the Maldives...

Back then, there was a a joke goin' 'round that the Japanese named a city Usa, so that products could be labeled 'Made in USA."

Dominican woman is hijacked and killed in Orlando, FL.

I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in Hell against quick-draw Big McGraw. Aaron Burr would be relegated to the dustbin of history.

Dominican woman is hijacked and killed in Orlando, FL.

No, sir, I'm not analyzing such selection; I was merely asking due to the fact the "big ten" is a rare choice these days, outside of big-game hunting... or so I read somewhere.

Over 18,000 Dominicans have been deported in less than a decade

Hah! I actually looked for Monaco. But I'm surprised NYC is not on the list.

Over 18,000 Dominicans have been deported in less than a decade

Well, Listín Diario did mention all the countries. And the list included the UK, England, and London. Seriously, folks. Also included Guadalupe and Pointe-à-Pitre. I've heard celebrities say they want to visit Paris and France, too (they might as well visit Europe during the same trip).

Over 18,000 Dominicans have been deported in less than a decade

OK, Listín Diario, where are your editors? The list of countries from where Dominicans were deported include the UK and Guadalupe, as well as London and Pointe-à-Pitre. I'll stop ridiculing Dominican celerities who express their desires to visit France and Paris... and Europe.

    Helicopters all over today

And all this time I thought you were a Gazcue resident: I even wrote lyrics to a song, titled From Mars to Gazcue.

Former President Fernandez expresses concern over unchecked migration

I think that by constantly vying for the top job, his legacy suffers. By now, folks have forgotten about the early success during his first mandate, 1996-2000. His return in 2004 was positive, after the 2003 banking debacle, but the reelection fever never subsided. I hope a repeat PRM term...

    Drone Video: Higuey

As far as being a university town, the options are limited: No medicine, engineering, architecture, etc... If the big money folks of SD would understand the potential in Higüey, they could make an impact.

Former President Fernandez expresses concern over unchecked migration

Absolutely, positively! I've only met him once, albeit briefly, but he showed me more respect than his entourage did, some of whom were eyeing me with suspicion, as if I were a wanted criminal.

    Drone Video: Higuey

I'm with you. But now, via la carretera del Coral, one could bypass Higüey in its entirety, on the way to Bávaro-Punta Cana area, or from B-PC if traveling to Bayahíbe and/or SD. I always cringe when I see those safari-style trucks, full of European tourists, being shuffled around like caña...

    Drone Video: Higuey

And there's much more growth, specifically to the area el El Cerro and beyond. I only caught a glimpse of the central park and the San Dionisio Church, the traditional center of Higüey.

Former President Fernandez expresses concern over unchecked migration

I would definitely vote for Abinader, but I think LF's preparation and education, coupled with his humility, makes him an outstanding individual by Dominican standards.
