Please tell me your favorite part of the DR you like, i.e. Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, La Romana, etc. and tell me why it's your favorite!! I'm still trying to decide where to go and knowing some opinions will help....

Since this will be our first time, what does everyone do for transportation around the city? Say you just want to go shopping or to a restaurant, are Taxis the best route? Does anyone rent a car or is there a public bus system? What's the best way to get around?
