The community of Pedro Garcia will be striking today and the road will be blocked so that nobody can drive through, this is what I heard (online radio show) today. So if you are heading from Sosua to Santiago take the long way going through Puerto Plata city.

This is funny, the priest of the catholic church have been requesting from the police department of this community to take in arrest a wizard "Brujo" who is doing satanic rituals in this town. As the priest and the homeowner association (junta de vecinos) have been requesting from the police to do this with no result today they are striking.
