I bought a real corned beef at El National in Santiago. It was imported from the states and vacuum packed. Oh, by the way, it was delicious with boiled cabbage and potatoes.

Good luck finding Clausens or for that matter any good pickles here. I suppose Dominicans haven't acquired a taste for them.

No kidding, I tried one of the individually wraped dill pickles and took one bite and threw the sour rubber like green thing in the garbage

As far as I know (pure) rye flour is not sold here.
Few Dominicans know the Spanish name for that cereal.

Not for sure but think that Bravo on Churchill here in the Capital might have the Rye Bread, they have all kinds of intergral, including a great black bread

The Playero in Sosua has a bread named centeno which transalates into RYE using the language translator and I saw a loaf there last week and it was light so maybe it's the real deal.

The black bread is pupernickle which is similar but not the same.

This bread comes from the German baker Moser, located in Sosua. It is in fact pretty good for here.

Where is the German baker located?

Been here almost 4 years and still have not been there.

Is it the one up the La Mulata road?

Panaderia Moser is around the corner from Restaurant El Batey, heading East on P.C., pass Sleazy Bar make the next right @ Zoillo Grocery, go to the end of the block, it is on your left, you'll smell the cookies!
