Ferries del Caribe Website

Am trying to research taking the ferry from Santo Domingo to Puerto Rico. The website seems dead. I knew there were some "negotiations" a few months back, but I haven't read anything since. Does anyone know if the ferry is still operating? And if so, how would I go about finding information?

Thanks much for the answer. Looks like I'll be flying to San Juan. No problem.

The advantages, I thought, would be two:

1. I wouldn't have to rent a car or pay taxi to get around P.R.

2. I could go to Walmart and buy some stuff, then drive back with the purchases.
