We are relatively new to the DR and would like to support folks doing environmental work on the North Coast - particularly in the Cabarete/Encuentro area. I've tried to find links on-line and have only found SOMONCA - does anyone know if they are still active? I'm seriously hindered in my search by my currently poor Spanish (working on it...). I was kind of surprised that the Iguana Mama site has no info...their local charity is not environmentally focused.
We are particularly interested in supporting/working with grassroots or Dominican based groups if anyone has any info!
