Does anyone know if a name change is legal for a naturalized citizen in the DR, and what the process is?
Also, would it have any impact on dual US citizenship?
I am hoping that a name change in the DR might help me get away from a stalker. I cannot so much as open a bank account or get cable in the US without this creep's PIs finding out and telling him. (He is a multi-millionaire, so he has the money to have people find me. Nothing like coming home after moving 3000 miles away, only to find a "love note" taped to your front door...)
Ideally, I would end up with a government issued document (a DR passport) with the new name on it. I don't want to also change my name in the US, because he is sure to find out.
Thanks.
