Dear All,

As of 29th November of this year, all applicants who want to apply to enter or remain in the UK as the husband, wife, civil partner, fiance(e), proposed civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner of a British citizen will need to show that they can speak and understand English.

As I understand it, this now means that all Dominicans applying to live in the UK will have to pass a basic Foreign Office approved English test in the DR to show that they have a minimum level of English and present evidence of this with their visa application.

Can anyone share any information as to which centres in the country offer approved testing? What do DR1 readers think about this new legislation? Newspaper reports show that human rights lawyers have already condemned the move...
