Obtaining original copy of divorce decree

I know Fabio commented on some older posts regarding copies of divorce decrees but I need some additional information. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

My friend lives in NY and needs to obtain an original copy of her divorce decree from DR. She has a photocopy of it with all the document numbers and dates that she would need to get the original copy. How can she obtain the original copy from NY?

Thanks Dr Guy, I know that if she were in the country she would be able to get a copy of it. However, we are looking for a way to get the original copy without her having to travel to DR to get it. Thanks for your reply though.
