I'll be in Santiago next week and I need to go to San Cristobal and then return back to Santiago. I'll be in a rental car. I know I need to take the Duarte Highway into Santo Domingo, then get to the malecon somehow, and then take the malecon west to San Cristobal. It looks like the Duarte Highway turns into the Avenida Luperon, which then appears to go straight to the malecon.
How much driving time will this be each way, and can it be done all in one day if I leave Santiago around 8am?

I'll only be in San Cristobal for an hour tops, to meet someone, then I'll be heading back to Santiago.

I'd appreciate any help in directions and the driving time estimates for each way and/or round trip. Thanks for all you can give.

You don't have to go to the malecon. Take a right at 27 de Febrero and head west. Follow the overhead and street signs to San Cristobal, they're well marked.

There may be other ways coming from Santiago, and if so, I'm sure someone will guide you.
