It is good to avoid usage of English contractions in written English.
English Contractions

Your own link says contractions are usually not used in FORMAL written English. Since when is an internet discussion board "formal"? This is an English language forum. While it is understood that for some that participate English is not their first language, there is no reason why special accomodation should be made for that.

The fact is, if anything, liberties are taken by those who post in Spanish on this board without providing a translation.

English Contractions

Those of us that posted above are fully aware that there's 4 words in the above posts, but frankly, we don't give a damn, it's still funny!

I for one try to write the same as I speak, with English Contractions!

Thus I disagree with avoiding the usage of English contractions in my written English!

Don't you just love the grammar police!

Anyway, we all know the worst three words are "tenemos que hablar". :paranoid:

That translates to FOUR words in English, and there's no contraction for it.

(We need to talk)

We'll need a ruling from the Grammar police to see if we can accept it.

;)

lol
