We are travelling to the Dominican Republc and we are bringin our children. We are mainyl concerned about the drinking age. what is it in the Domincan?

18, but less strictly enforced than in Europe (which isn't very enforced).

18 years of age is your best shot. They will not allow any minors in the club. The police have executed many raids and fined many niteclubs. You could probably take them to the "Malecon," but I can't guarantee you won't be ticketed. I took my cousins out drinking to the Malecon, in San Pedro de Macoris. We were not approached by the authorities but, it could have been a blue moon out.

That's right about clubs, but I haven't noticed colmados checking proof.
