HELP!! Reasonable Priced Hotels/Motels in Santiago

Hello, All

I've searched the forum and did not find a list of reasonable priced lodging in Santiago, DR. I'm looking for a place to stay during my trip in March 3rd to 6th. I'm looking for a place to stay that cost between $40 - $75 USD per night. After numerous searches. My results only showed expensive hotels in the 150 to 275 USD range. Any help that you guys can provide would be much appreciated.

Pretty poor search, IMO....
Within your price range (comfortably):
Colonial
Platino
Courtyard (I think)
Los jardines
Aloha Sol

All of them are within your price range...don't lelieve waht you see on the internet.

Search this site for Santiago hotels and read all about it!!

I just returned from my first trip to Santiago.

I highly recommend staying at The Matum Hotel and Casino. You can negotiate a Jr. Suite w/ Balcony (for 2 People / 2 Queen Beds) 2000 Pesos/night - this includes Tax,Breakfast and free WIFI (in lobby area only).

Note that the Balcony of the Jr Suites are above the Vintage Lounge - although we did not mind the transient noise - if you are a sound sleeper I would ask for a non-balcony room.

Other advantages of Matum - free parking, great location, casino downstairs, good exchange rate for dollars ($1 = 37 pesos (as of Jan 31, 2011)).

We spent the first night at Aloha Sol - I hated the place - small, cramp and expensive compared to Matum.

Thanks, But most hotels/motels you find from some of the major bookings sites list crazy rates. I really have found another way to search.
