I personally think Hard Rock is a world-class resort: the spa, lobby area, restaurants, casino, gym etc are tops.

With that said, this is a mega resort and a little too much for my liking. But it depends on what you're liking is. In any case, I'm sure you'll have a blast.

I can't comment on the resort... but as far as the Hard Rock Cafes go, (anywhere in the world), they're good but WAY over priced, (starting with their $17 hamburger). You're paying for the hype. I don't know if that business model is carried over to their resorts / casinos or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.

If your going to stay at the resort I think you will like it. Close to 5 star as you can get. I spent a weekend there a few weeks ago. It was nice but I think there are other resorts in the area ( less money) that for me fit the bill. As far as the restaurant ( Hard Rock Cafe) goes do not bother. $$$$ for alot of nothing. Much better places to eat. Had some friends stay at the Barcelo Jr Suites and they really enjoyed it. Seems that they have done some renovations and my friends thought it was nice. They had a oceanfront room and they thought it was well worth the $$.

Yeah i agree in the cafes they are really pricy i go sometimes for the music in santo domingo because i love the hard rock style.

let's see how the resort goes we already paid for it and ready to go!! i sometimes let myself be fooled by the "if it is expensive must be good" kind of thinking! i hope is worth it.

For two nights you should eat in Zen, the Tepinyaki table, where they cook and do a little show. You need to make a reservation for this in the morning outside of the Market Restaurant. They start taking reservations at 7 AM. If you get there by 9Am or so you should be OK.

The other night eat at Ipannema, the Brazilian restaurant on the beach. You don't need a reservation for this one. They serve several cuts of meat there. The Top Sirloin is the best. So wait for that one and load up.

Hard Rock, you decide

Hi there! So I?m back and this is what I think about Hard Rock, Puntacana.
The hotel is indeed HUGE and it can accommodate TONS of people, but the good thing is that there are so many places for you to be at ? drink, eat, relax, swim, take the sun?- that you will not feel that there are so many people; at night some places will be full (restaurants mostly) and you may have to wait little bit ; but they have MANY GOOD places to eat so you can just switch.

We didn?t have time to stop at all the places to eat but we did check all of them and there is food for all tastes; they have many good bars by the lobby with great drinks you can order about anything and they will prepare it nice, by the pool they do have the not tasty drinks ? just like most hotels in DR- but by the lobby is the place to drink!!

The casino is great!!!! ? of course because we won some $$$!! :p

Overall when you walk in to the lobby for check in and walk around the common areas before going to the rooms you will definitely feel like a rock start and in a 5 stars hotel!! After that you walk/ take the golf cars to the room, swimming pool, or beach the quality goes down. Here is how I will rate it:

Lobby / Reception / Restaurants, Bars/ : 5 Stars!! Service is great and there are many choices...
Rooms/ pools / Green areas / : 3 ? to 4 ( I have to say that the small bar in the room have many soft drinks beer, even a bottle of wine! That is why it?s a 4!!! )

the lobby is TOTALLY different now, is more like a hard rock style, definetly a lot better and with a different enviroment. behind is almost same just some small changes.

Did you leave the hotel? Playa Macao is a beautiful spot and not far from where you were.
