I need some advice on how my boyfriend can come to the U.S. for a visit. He is from DR and I would like for him to visit me here in the states. I have heard that the waiting list is 8 to 10 years for a visa. Can anyone tell me the procedure and cost for this? I also heard that he can come here on a Fiance Visa but we must marry within 90 days. Although we are sure we will marry some day, neither of us want this kind of pressure. A visit to see if he is interested would be ideal for both of us. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

He needs to prove his economic solvency to get a visa. Over the years, there have been many many similar posts made in this message board. Suggest you check the archives looking up fiance visa, visa, US visa, etc. You will find many emails of people who have gone through the process that you can also consult with by email.
