The spokesman of the organization for the Carnival of Puerto Plata has revealed the carnival schedule for this year. On Sunday January 29 in the amphitheater of Hotel Be Live (Costa Dorada) King Momo has already been crowned and the Carnival Queen was chosen by a jury. Furthermore, every Sunday in February (5, 12, 19, 26) and on Monday, February 27th there will Carnival celebrations at the Malec?n opposite the fire station.
On Monday, February 27, the carnival ends with a big parade through the streets of the port city, which ends at the town hall square of Puerto Plata. The most appealing creation (float or group) will represent Puerto Plata in the grand parade in Santo Domingo. If there is a Carnival celebration in Sos?a, we have heard nothing about it.
