I'm thinking of renting a place in Sousa for a month are there any gyms that are reasonable? Thanks

The one I go to is on the top floor of the Sosua Bay casino. Not sure what the current price is for someone who just wants to use gym for a month, not join. Was RD$1,000 for the month, don't know if still is.

I use Golds Gym in the Ocean Village complex. (About 2 miles SW of Sosua.) There is no joining fee- 2500 pesos ($65) for a month. Expensive, but very nice gym. NOT a place to hang out with a bunch of big or wanna be big guys to talk- I've seen a lot of somewhat older people using it more to stay in shape.

Platinum gym, top floor of casino, is RD$500 initiation and RD$1000 monthly fee. Even though coming for one month, the manager told me it is better to pay this than the tourist rate.

Good clientel. Lots of expats and foreign visitors.

Yep...like Ken and Latitude said. The two best gyms, hands down, on the north coast is: Platinum and Gold's. There's more amenities at Gold's...like two swimming pools and a water park for children but, it is $33 dollars more a month.

Hey Ken, is Armando giving you a percent? Im thinking of asking Illiana for a little something for all my promoting of Sosua. Platinum gym(platinum - better than gold, get it?) is very nice, clean, well equipped and you get to chat with Ken on the treadmill AND its in Sosua. Golden Park is just too damn hot without air conditioning as well as the equipment is really really old. Gold's is too hoity toity, too expensive and its not located in beautiful downtown Sosua. The other one at the far end of Pedro Clisante (Delois, or something like that) is out of business. With three gyms in or near Sosua we should be very healthy and good looking.
