Write a check on your US bank, get a cambio to cash it, deposit the funds in the DR bank.

Hi all. I'd like to know how much money can I transfer From An USA Bank to the DR.
Thanks in Advance.

Nano

You can transfer as much as you want, people transfer enough to buy houses. Most banks will charge about $45 to do it. If it's over $10,000 it will be reported to IRS, but if it's coming from a savings/bank account there should be no problem.

Personaly, I wire sometimes - $10-15,000 w/ no paperwork.

Oftentimes I'll carry $5-6-7-8,000.

And again, I'll cash checks at the cambio.

Multifunctional, you might say !!

Cobraboy's suggestion is very uncomplicated - you can cash whatever you want at the cambio.

For those who might say, " I would never carry $8,000 on my trip"............ I say that walking out of the cambio is a certain giveaway that you have money in your pocket.

Any traveler might have no money - the cambio customer has just "loaded up".

Whichever you decide - always use caution and discretion and be aware.
