Did he not increase tourism by that amount in his past tenure? Otherwise such an increase at this time is pure fantasy.

That's the target goal for tourism, not like is going to happen overnight!

Each year it has been going up and as new cruise ports and areas of attractions get expanded, the number of tourist will surely rise as well.

Just the road from SD to Punta Cana will play a vital role into expanding tourism, even more than just the AI and beaches.

The colonial zone will get a lot of investment soon.

Puerto Plata, Miches, Monte Cristi, Barahona, Samana... To name a few...

4 million on 2010, close to 5 in 2011 and more than 5 on pace for 2012...

I could envision the 10 million tourist a year, but only if the cruise ship ports are constructed and functioning. Otherwise reaching 10 million tourist a year will take at least the whole four years of Danilo Medina's presidency to achieve.

I see. Target = Nonsense. Carry on with the propaganda. I see there will be no problem doubling tourism during his tenure in what I see as a lost generation throughout the world.

DR has the potential to double tourism in 5 years. Many cruise ships will be based in the DR touring to Cuba etc.

Chinese cruises. That's the ticket, yeah.

Extremely relevant to talk about French tourism, by the way, on a DR forum, don't you think?
Do you make your own LSD or do people just give it to you?

The 10 million tourists is not suppose to be achieved within the next 4 years, but rather the bases will be created now so that in 10 years the country will receive that many tourists, per year. At least, according to the news articles.
